Coop Värmland deepens the collaboration with Karlstad-based Elvenite to strengthen competitiveness through increased digitization. As part of a long-term strategic partnership, Elvenite takes over Coop Värmland's department for IT, Business Development and Sales Support. The transition affects 15 employees and is expected to be completed on November 1, 2017.

- Elvenite and Coop Värmland have had a successful collaboration in IT and business development for the past ten years. Now we are taking the collaboration to a new level, which allows us to accelerate our digital transformation and strengthen our market position, says Tomas Sjölander, CEO of Coop Värmland.

- This is a fantastic opportunity for us. We are taking over a very competent team with extensive knowledge in food production and grocery trade. It makes us even stronger, says Johan Gotting, CEO of Elvenite.

INCREASED DIGITALIZATION

Grocery retailing is undergoing major changes with a growing share of online shopping and large investments in digitization to meet customers' demands for convenience and accessibility. At Coop Värmland, they have implemented a significant restructuring to strengthen their competitiveness by increasing the focus on sales within their various store concepts and via e-commerce in recent years.

- Digital development is progressing ever faster, and places completely new demands on know-how in areas such as cloud services, security and monitoring. The partnership with Elvenite means that we secure resources in the long term and strengthen our competence in a strategically important area, continues Tomas Sjölander.

ELVENITE EXPANDS

Elvenite's work will have a strong focus on creating conditions for Coop Värmland to meet consumers' needs and the changes in purchasing behavior that come with new technology such as mobility and cashierless stores.

- At the same time, we can broaden our offer to the food industry and grocery trade with specialist competence in supply chain, the business system Infor M3, advanced analysis, monitoring and cloud infrastructure, says Åsa Klevmarken, CEO of the newly formed subsidiary Elvenite Managed Services AB.
