The course is aimed at you who are professionals, mainly in manufacturing companies but also in service companies or the public sector, and who are interested in creating an idea about servitization and what it means in practice. It suits you, for example, in the role of middle manager, project manager, salesperson, production manager, marketing and customer manager and employee in product and service development.

COURSE CONTENT

The goal of the course is to give you increased knowledge and understanding of the transformation that servitization means for companies and organizations.

The course consists of three modules:

  1. The concept servitization
  2. The offering – including business models and pricing
  3. Strategies for servitization

The content of the course focuses on value creation through servitization with a particular focus on manufacturing companies. However, the models and theories presented are also applicable to service companies or organizations in the public sector.

Concrete tools that can facilitate the work with the change process that servification entails will be presented and practiced during the course. Identification of common challenges linked to service creation will also be presented and a clear focus will be on how these can be addressed and overcome.

After completing the course, you will get a: clearer picture of how your own organization can be strengthened and developed from a service perspective. Better understanding of what servification means and how it can develop businesses. Insight into how a service perspective can be applied in your and others' businesses.

 

IMPLEMENTATION

The course is made up of modules where you take part in research articles and films as well as participate in lectures and discussions. You will actively participate in course assignments, exchange experiences with other participants, project work and convey your reflections in writing.

The course is at advanced level. It is aimed at you who are professionals and is given on a part-time basis so that studies and work can be combined. The teaching takes place in Swedish and English and is carried out remotely via Zoom.

 

EXAMINATION

The course objectives are examined through written and oral tasks that are discussed and presented at mandatory seminars.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

90 credits, of which at least 30 credits at G2F level or higher in social, behavioral or natural sciences and at least 2 years of work experience in professional activities relevant to the course. High school's English 6 or English A. Corresponding assessment can be done.
