Welcome to Karlstad
Karlstad is situated right between Stockholm and Oslo. 350 km from Stockholm and less to Gothenburg in the south. Direct flights several times a day to Stockholm and Copenhagen and fast trains to Stockholm (2 1/2 hours) means that a day spent with meetings in Stockholm or Germany doesn´t necesarily mean a night spent at a hotel.
Karlstad is the major city in Värmland. Shopping, cultural events and nightlife has a lot to offer. Even though we are over 100.000 people living here, in and around Karlstad, almost everything is close by. The archipelago with good opportunities to sail or swim or the forest with hiking or skiing in the winter. Many of us take our bikes to work!
